On 1 July, gas and electricity prices fell by 7% under the new energy price cap. That means the average household (paying by Direct Debit) can expect to spend £1,568 a year on energy bills. However, the amount you pay will depend on your exact energy use.

Take a look at some top energy-saving tips:

  • Reduce your boiler flow temperature.
  • Wash your clothes at a lower temperature.
  • Get a smart meter to keep an eye on your energy use.
  • Using more water? Your water provider might be able to give you free products, like an energy-efficient shower head. Contact them to see if there’s anything they can provide you with to save water and money.
