We are proposing to make some legal changes to the two housing associations that sit within Futures Housing Group - Futures Homeway Limited (FHW) and Futures Homescape Limited (FHL). Both of these were set up as charitable companies registered with Companies House. They were absorbed into the Group structure when Futures was formed. Customers hold tenancies with one of them - largely for historical reasons - but day-to-day it makes little or no practical difference for most people as we now operate as one Group.

We now want to convert both FHW and FHL to a different type of organisation called a community benefit society. This won't cause any changes to tenancies or to the services we deliver, but it better reflects the role and benefits to the community that FHW and FHL bring and is consistent with most similar housing associations nationally.

Like all housing associations, we have to follow standards set out by the Regulator of Social Housing. One of those standards is that if we want to change our legal structure in this way we have to consult our customers. Our Board has to consider any customer comments before approving the change. With this in mind we have written to all our customers to tell them about the change and to invite them to respond if they want to. We have also put together some frequently asked questions which you can see below.

If you have any questions, feedback or comments on this proposal we would like to hear from you. You can share your views with us by:
