Do you live in Amber Valley? Do you want to work together to improve your community? Then we might have the answer for you.
Throughout the summer, Amber Valley Borough Council are holding several ‘Days of Action’ for the public to join in. Along with Futures and Derbyshire Police, our three organisations will be across the following locations to support you and your community.
- Thursday 10 August, 10am - 2pm: Pennytown Court, Somercotes.
- Wednesday 16 August, 2pm - 4pm: Outram Court, Ripley.
- Wednesday 23 August, 10am - 1pm: Kew Crescent, Heanor.
- Wednesday 30 August, 10am - 2pm: Firs Garden, Alfreton.
- Wednesday 6 September, 10am - 1pm: Manor Farm, Belper.
The community action days have been organised as an opportunity to address any concerns relating to anti-social behaviour. Part of the focus of the day is on reducing further crime in your area and crime prevention in your home - but you can come along to ask any questions, crime or non-crime related! We'll also be doing litter picks across the locations too.
The first day of action was held at the end of July at Cedar Avenue Park, Ripley where people joined in a litter pick and came to ask questions and have a chat.
Janene Haywood, Community Engagement Project Delivery Officer at Futures said: "The first day was an encouraging start and I'm looking forward to the rest of the planned activities this month. Supporting the communities where our customers live is a big joint effort, and it's why community days like this are so important, so we can all work together to make a positive change in our customers' neighbourhoods."
Amber Valley Borough Council said: “We're proud to work with other organisations across the borough to join hands in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour within the community, together we’ve got big plans to make a difference!
"Our priority is building a community that’s safe and vibrant, and we’re calling on our residents to team up with us and take care of our environment. Come along to our 'Days of Action' to find out how to take part and see what activities we’ll be carrying out in your area. Let’s do this together!”
