We're pleased to be working with residential property developer MyPad on two affordable housing schemes this year, bringing much needed new homes to towns in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.
The partnership will result in 28 homes on Marion Avenue in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire and 21 homes on Springwell Lane in Whetstone, Leicestershire.
Both schemes will be made up of homes for social rent and shared ownership, and they will achieve the top energy performance certificate rating of A. The properties will have air source heat pumps and solar panels to help with energy usage as well as electric car charging points.
Anthony Holt, Director of Development & Asset Maximisation at Futures said: “Making sustainable homes is so important to Futures. By investing in energy efficiency measures we’re bringing people into more comfortable and affordable to heat homes that are fit for the future.
“MyPad has delivered homes for us previously, so we’re pleased to be working with them again as they share our vision of delivering high quality homes.”
John Turner, Land and Partnerships Director at MyPad said: “We are delighted to be starting work on these two new developments for Futures Housing Group. Having delivered successful schemes together previously, it is particularly rewarding to be continuing our partnership. We value the collaborative way Futures approach their projects and look forward to delivering high quality, sustainable homes that will make a lasting, positive contribution to the local communities.”
Futures was successful in receiving grant funding from the government body Homes England for both schemes, after the government added an extra £2 billion to its Affordable Homes Programme in March last year.
Anthony added: “As a not-for-profit housing association Homes England’s funding is key to helping us build more affordable homes, so we’re very grateful for Homes England and the local authorities’ support to make schemes like this possible. We’re looking forward to working with MyPad and bringing much needed affordable homes to these towns.”
Work started in Hucknall in November last year and work will begin on site in Whetstone in the coming months. It’s expected both schemes will be ready in 2027.
