A local voluntary group has served up a festive afternoon of fun for Futures customers living at Warwick Court in Daventry.
Customers at the over 55 residence were cooked a Christmas dinner by Happy@Home, whose volunteers were joined by staff from construction company, Langley.
The organisations turned into chefs, waiters and entertainers, as they handed out food, drinks and chatted with customers. Pigs in blankets, turkey, gravy and the rest of the usual roast dinner goodies were accompanied by a mix of Slade, Mariah Carey and Brenda Lee as background music.
Lorena Silvestri, Project Co-ordinator at Langley said: "This is the first year our company has volunteered like this and it's been a brilliant day. I'm going to leave with a big smile on my face, it's been absolutely amazing."
Santa Claus also made an appearance and handed out Christmas presents to every customer which had kindly been donated by a local Swimming World group.
Evelyn, a Futures customer said: "It's been a wonderful day, we've all enjoyed ourselves and we hope that we will be able to continue and see you again next year. When you're 98 dear, you know you're not going to live forever."
Langley staff had also rounded up a generous table full of prizes to give away in a raffle to customers, including many bottles of wine, chocolates and perfume.
Caroline Malloy, Volunteer at Happy@Home said: "It's been amazing as always today to see the crowd of people. The residents here have signed a card to thank us which is just beautiful of them - everybody was so happy."
Jacqui H, Futures customer said: "It's been lovely to see so many happy, smiling faces. There's been so much joy and love in this room that it's filled me up. You can feel the love and happiness here."
Carol, Futures customer said: "It's been absolutely wonderful. And not just wonderful, it's given us a new lease of life, all of us! There isn't one person here who hasn't enjoyed themselves, we've all had a laugh, it's been marvellous."
