Futures’ work towards becoming a zero carbon organisation has been given a huge boost thanks to funding of almost £1 million from the Government. The award forms part of a joint £14.9m bid to the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund with Nottingham City Council and several other housing providers.
Our slice of the funding will allow us to upgrade 73 of our customers’ homes in and around Amber Valley and Erewash to substantially improve their energy performance. This will include adding external wall insulation, draughtproofing and loft insulation to the properties that will help make the homes more comfortable to live in and, crucially at this time of soaring fuel prices, cheaper for our customers to heat.
Work on the properties will get underway in the summer.
