This week organisations and individuals across the country will be thanking unpaid carers for their work in helping loved ones who need extra help. Carers Week, which runs from 7-13 June, is a week dedicated to unpaid carers and a chance to raise awareness of the work unpaid carers do.

What is an unpaid working carer?: someone who provides unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, or who needs extra help as they grow older.

We know that being an unpaid carer takes its toll and it’s tough to find the time to relax and to get support. Thankfully, there are lots of organisations providing support and advice, so to help we’ve put together a list of organisations which give advice, guidance and support to carers.

Don’t forget if you need support from Futures, we have our income and money advice team if you are struggling financially. Our employment team are available to help if you are wishing to get in employment or training, and our friendly Beep Assist team, who run our lifeline service, are only a call away.

We’re also very proud to announce that we have signed up to Harry’s Pledge – a campaign to support carers in the workplace
