Last Friday, we joined colleagues from across Derbyshire to celebrate the East Midlands Chamber Derbyshire Business Awards. An annual event, the Business Awards recognise the work of businesses and organisations across Derbyshire.

We’re delighted that our digital team were the recipients of the Business Improvement Through Technology award, for their work integrating new automated and robotic processing into our organisation as part of our Digital Strategy. Harriet Gray, Automation Developer, said:

“While we have quite a diverse range of digital projects, they all share a common goal: to make life easier, both for Futures staff and our customers.

I’d like to think that this award shows that we are making strides towards creating effortless experiences for our teams and tenants.

Our win also reflects the support from the rest of the business, something we are hugely grateful for.”

Futures’ digital strategy is at the heart of our corporate plan, and aims to improve customer experience through technology and use automation to make efficiencies. Automation of repetitive tasks is freeing up time for our team members and allowing our people take on more exciting and meaningful projects, and to focus on helping customers who need the most support.

We’re also incredibly proud of Lisa Scarboro, named Apprentice of the Year for her trailblazing work in our repairs team. Lisa joined Futures after finding the position through our employment advice team, and is currently completing her Level 2 qualification in Property Maintenance and hoping to move onto Level 3 in the future.

“I’m a little overwhelmed, but feel really proud for representing Futures with this award! I’m very thankful to everyone at Futures for giving me the opportunities and guidance through my apprenticeship so far.”

She also passed on her congratulations to Keenan Gregory, also shortlisted for Apprentice of the Year. Keenan is another shining example of our apprentices at Futures and being shortlisted in this very competitive category is a huge achievement. Lisa and Keenan are both completing their apprenticeships as part of our ongoing partnership with Access Training East Midlands, who were also shortlisted in the Education and Business Partnership category.

It was wonderful to make a return to face-to-face celebrations at the Derbyshire County Cricket Club. We’d like to say thank you to the East Midlands Chamber and all the award sponsors for such an excellent evening, and congratulations to all our fellow winners and nominees!
