Our approach to updating staff on new data protection laws has seen us shortlisted in one of the biggest national communications awards.

The Communications Team will go up against household names including Nationwide Building Society and telecoms giant Sky, in the Internal Communications and Employee Engagement category at the PR Week Awards.

The awards celebrate and champion excellence in PR and communications and recognise PR agencies, in-house teams and individuals.

Mike Underwood, Head of Communications, said: “I’m extremely proud that our small team has been shortlisted for these awards against some giant brands.

“Sharing the importance of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) with staff was key to ensuring we are able to keep our customer’s information safe and secure, so we took a unique approach to this communication challenge and asked ourselves – what would Steven Spielberg do?

“Our film-noir style campaign saw great results, so to be shortlisted for awards for this approach is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.”

The team created a series of film noir-inspired films and movie info posters during a three month campaign which saw increases in awareness of GDPR, how to avoid breaching the new regulations and how to report suspected breaches.
