If you’ve been a Futures customer for a while, you might be used to receiving two letters from us in the Spring – your rent increase notification, which you will have received in the last few weeks, and a rent statement, which in previous years was sent in April.
We’re changing this process which means you will now receive your rent statement later in the year, in early October. This first rent statement will cover an 18-month period, to reflect that it is arriving later than previous years.
Spring is a busy time for our team members, who have to process more than 6,000 Universal Credit confirmations, helping to avoid payment problems for customers who receive this benefit. It’s absolutely vital that this process is done on time and accurately, so that customers don’t miss out on any of the payments they’re entitled to.
By moving your rent statement to later in the year, it frees up our team to focus on this process, and also allows us to respond to your recent feedback about customer communication. In a survey last year, an overwhelming majority of respondents told us they’d prefer to receive a printed magazine from us – so in addition to your rent statement in October, you’ll also receive your second in-print edition of Futures in Focus. By combining these mailouts together, we’re able to save on postage, to make sure that we’re communicating with customers the way they’d like us to, as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.
If you need a rent statement sooner, or you have any questions about this change, you can get in touch by filling in our customer enquiries form, contacting us on 0300 456 2531, or visiting My Account. We’re always happy to provide rent statements as needed throughout the year.
