We’re so excited to reveal Futures has been recognised for the support we give to the community with an award from a local charity.
Futures received the ‘Partnership & Community Award’ at Salcare’s charity gala evening where local and national organisations were congratulated for their work.
Salcare is a well-established charity which has been helping the community of Amber Valley and beyond since 1977, and we often refer our customers to the organisation due to the wide range of services it offers – this includes a food bank and pantry, domestic violence and family support and a community café.
The award has been a real team effort from colleagues at Futures as we’ve supported Salcare with several projects this year, including the welcomed reopening of its community café. Futures played a pivotal part in this and worked with partners to buy and install a new cooker after the café had been closed since Covid. The café now serves as a warm space for people to socialise and buy affordable meals.
We also decorated Salcare’s premises on our ‘Futures in the Community Day’ in December last year and chose the charity to receive a share of a £7,000 donation from our gas servicing contractors.

It really shows just how important it is that we engage with our communities and the impact that can be achieved when we work collaboratively with partners.”
