This week we’ve helped make a neighbourhood in Long Buckby a safer place to live by working with local partners to stop anti-social behaviour.

A property in Grasscroft, Long Bucky has been the source of ongoing anti-social behaviour and drug use, making local residents’ lives a misery. We worked with our partners, West Northamptonshire Council and Daventry Police team, to successfully secure a closure order on the property from Northampton Magistrates Court.

This closure order means that nobody, including the tenant, can enter the property again for three months. It will provide an immediate respite for the local community from the disruption.

Sarah Wyke, Director of Housing at Futures said: “We’re pleased with this outcome that is the result of working closely and collaboratively with our partners. We’ll now start to seek possession of the property, which can take a long time, but it’s something we’ll work to do. This sort of action is always our last resort, but we will not tolerate this type of anti-social behaviour and will always do everything we can to protect our customers and communities, so they can feel safe and comfortable in their home.”
