Futures is proud to have joined the Housing Diversity Network as part of our commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusion. Being a member gives us access to not only great webinars, resources and support from the team, but also the ability to network with our peers working in the space and share best practice from other organisations who are talking the talk and walking the walk.
We were proud to sponsor and attend HDN’s recent autumn conference, ‘A spotlight on equality’ in early October. In addition to attending fascinating sessions about everything from making our repairs service more inclusive to reflections on the recent riots that sparked across the country, we also heard from Luke Stanley, our Organisational Development Lead, on how to increase Board diversity and the importance of weaving equity, diversity and inclusion into our strategies across the organisation.
Pauline Davis, Chair of our Board, said: “I’m delighted that Futures Housing Group is part of the Housing Diversity Network. Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) is central to the role that we have providing homes for our customers, that meet their needs and are safe and secure. It is important to me that the Board has oversight of EDI as part of our business strategy. HDN will support us as an organisation as we seek to continually improve.”
We’re excited to keep building our knowledge around equity, diversity and inclusion, and make sure that we’re representing and supporting our customers and colleagues of all backgrounds. We’ll be continuing to work with HDN and other organisations across the sector and beyond to make sure that equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging are built in at all levels, and that our team members and customers feel welcome at Futures.
