Sixteen volunteers from Futures Housing Group are taking on a challenge walk in September to raise money.
We have joined forces with East Midlands Chamber to raise money for three fantastic charities in 2022.
Lindsey Williams, CEO of Futures, took on the role of President for East Midlands Chamber in December 2021 and with that, had the pleasure of choosing three charities across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire to support.
Her chosen charities are:
Treetops Hospice. Based in Derbyshire, Treetops offer support to people with terminal illness and their families. They provide nurses to help people be comfortable in their homes and support their families and young people through the process.
Focus. Based in Leicester, Focus support young people in the area through a variety of different workshops, events and by offering an open door to anyone who needs support. They have seen an increase in mental health issues in young people over the past couple of years and have created a safe environment for them to feel loved, supported and empowered.
Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. The mission of the Trust is to protect Nottinghamshire’s wildlife, restore biodiversity and inspire people about the natural world. Throughout the pandemic many people really appreciated our greenspaces which is why this charity was chosen.
The walk starts in the village of Edale and takes on three spectacular summits in the heart of the Peak District. With approximately 6 hours of walking, 12 miles and a 2,500ft ascent, this will truly be a challenge so please donate what you can to support the group!
On behalf of Lindsey, Futures and the Chamber, we would like to thank you for donating as the three charities rely heavily on donations to keep providing the fantastic services they offer, especially after a difficult couple of years.
