Futures has been awarded a silver certificate in an environmental impact assessment by SHIFT.
SHIFT specialise in environmental reporting of the social housing sector and have reviewed the environmental impact of Futures existing homes, new builds, offices & operations, strategy & management, and supply chain.
Steph Quinn, Sustainability Assistant at Futures said: "We're so pleased to have achieved a silver certificate and a score of 47.15! Our first assessment last year we were awarded bronze, so this demonstrates such a significant improvement for Futures."
The improvement reflects all the changes Futures has made over the last year since launching our Sustainability Strategy. From improving insulation and installing solar panels to some of our existing homes, to the transition to our new head office, Futures House, which is our most sustainable building and rated EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) Band A.
Steph said: "By working with SHIFT we can benchmark our environmental performance against other social landlords and access recommendations to improve our performance. We know we have lots more work to do, but it’s great to see we’re making a shift in the right direction.”
