We’re excited to announce that we’ve just completed a development of 18 new homes in the village of Crich. The homes in Coast Hill, which are available for shared ownership and for rent, will provide much needed affordable accommodation for local people.
The site has a range of house designs and includes six bungalows next to the medical centre. The 18 properties include two-bedroomed and three-bedroomed shared ownership, affordable rent, and Rent to Buy properties. Shared ownership gives people the chance to buy a share of a property, typically 25% or 50%, while paying rent on the remaining share. The Rent to Buy scheme offers lower rent (80% of market rent), allowing tenants to save for a house deposit to buy the property outright.
“We’re committed to building high-quality and affordable homes for local people and this site is a great example of this. Crich is a beautiful, highly sought-after village, and these homes will give people the chance to stay in the area near family and friends” James Dial, Programme Manager.
Work began on the site in November 2019, and homeowners and tenants move into their new homes at the end of July.
Futures appointed Geda Construction to undertake the £3 million project. A possible phase 2 of the project is being explored which will allow us to build more affordable homes on the site. Part of our new corporate plan objective is to build hundreds of homes, across the region, over the next three years.
