Budgeting to beat the system

Without knowing what money is coming in and going out, it’s very easy to see it all vanish, so having some budgeting tips up your sleeve will help.

Our online budget calculator will help you work out exactly how much money you have each month and where it goes. We’ve also created a weekly spending diary that you can use to keep an eye on where your money is going.

If at the end of the month you have more going out than you have coming in, then you should contact our Money Advice Team as soon as possible for help on managing your money.

There are many ways to reduce costs and plenty of tips to help, including reducing the amount you spend on non-essentials or planning your meals in advance to make food shopping cheaper.

Here’s some useful website links for more budgeting advice:

If you have already found yourself in debt, visit our dealing with debt page for more advice or call us on 0300 456 2531 to book a Money Advice session.
