Procurement team up for two national awards
Futures Housing Group has been shortlisted for two prestigious national awards for exceptional procurement work.
The housing provider, which manages around 9,100 homes throughout the East Midlands, is up for the Procurement Team of the Year and the Leading Procurement Practice Award at the National Government Opportunities (GO) Procurement Awards.
Futures’ creative procurement team was shortlisted after they took an abstract approach to procurement training and brought in a Donald Trump impersonator to deliver their procurement ‘constitution’ which was captured on video and shown live across the organisation.
John Thornhill, Contracts and Procurement Manager at Futures, said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been shortlisted for these awards, we strive to communicate procurement in an innovative and creative way.
“To have our achievements recognised and to be shortlisted for the awards again is a great feeling.”
Futures is up against 16 other organisations across both categories, including Loughborough University and NHS Wales.
The team has also been shortlisted again after becoming the first organisation in the world to adopt the innovative Framework Alliance Contract (FAC-1).
The GO awards celebrate excellence in public procurement in the UK and will be held on 24 April at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel, Manchester.
