Futures invites leaders to solve the housing puzzle
Futures Housing Group is hosting a major housing summit, bringing together leaders from across the sector, development and government, to solve the housing puzzle.
As part of its 10th anniversary year, the East Midlands-based housing association will host a debate of senior professionals and influencers to help tackle the housing crisis.
Chaired by Sir Michael Lyons, former Chairman of the BBC; former Government advisor and Chairman of the Lyons Housing Commission in 2014, the event on May 3 will discuss the outcomes of the Housing White Paper and the housing market.
Sir Michael Lyons said: “The White Paper could mark a more ambitious approach to the supply of new homes across all tenures and needs. This will be a chance to explore what that might mean for the East Midlands.”
The stellar line up also features market commentator Justin Urquhart-Stewart, Head of Corporate Development and co-founder of Seven Investment Management and Observer Chief Leader writer Sonia Sodha.
Lindsey Williams, Chief Executive of Futures Housing Group, said: “We’re bringing sectors together to debate the supply of new homes and get to the heart of the lack of affordable homes for rent and sale across the region. Solving the housing puzzle will take a collective effort from a range of organisations; private, public and government.
“I’m delighted that Sir Michael Lyons has agreed to chair the debate, and would like to thank all of the influential speakers who will help to generate ideas the futures of housing.
“Our experienced panel of experts will spark the debate needed to ensure professionals across the Midlands are engaged in the conversation to shape the future of the housing sector.”
The event is being held at the National Space Centre, Leicester, on Wednesday, 3 May from 8.30am to 12.30pm.
