Former industrial site transformed into new homes

An ambitious development company has transformed a former industrial site into 11 new homes in a £1.3million scheme in Eastwood.

Limehouse Developments Ltd, a subsidiary of Futures Housing Group, will offer five homes for shared ownership and six for market rent in Great Northern Road.

The regeneration of the former industrial site is part of a partnership between Limehouse, Sturdy Construction and Broxtowe Borough Council.

It is Limehouse’s second phase of development in Great Northern Road after previously delivering nine affordable rental homes.

Alan Boucker, Director of Development & Investment at Limehouse, said: “We’re extremely pleased to complete our second wave of new homes in Great Northern Road.

“With the East Midlands facing a housing shortfall of 17,000 homes, we’re proud to be supplying quality new homes for local people.

“Since its launch in 2015, Futures Housing Group has delivered hundreds of new homes throughout the region and we’re always looking to work with new partners to ensure we continue to provide the right homes in the right places.”

Councillor Tony Harper, Chair of the Jobs and Economy Committee at Broxtowe Borough Council, said: “We’re happy to see the development come to fruition to help provide a good quality homes for all residents of Broxtowe. We always welcome new developments like this to help us towards that goal.”

Robert Hodgkinson of Sturdy Construction said: “Following on from the success of the first phase of the Great Northern Road project, we were delighted to commence works on phase two. We maintained our high standards of workmanship alongside giving care and attention to every aspect of the job. It was a pleasure to be part of the regeneration of the street.”

The site will offer three, two-bedroom homes and two, three-bedroom homes for shared ownership, one of which is a detached property.

It will also offer two, three-bedroom homes and four, two-bedroom homes for rent. The Limehouse team has already sold the detached home, subject to contract, and is handling several enquiries.
