If I had to choose one word to describe working in the Communications team at Futures Housing Group, it would be opportunity.
The organisation and the team give you every opportunity to grow, succeed and develop, both professionally and personally.
Having spent three years with Futures, I can honestly say that it’s been the most enjoyable and satisfying role of my career so far. Not bad when you consider I’ve previously worked for the Police and within professional football.
Working on external communications for Futures is challenging at times but always very rewarding. The variety of tasks and the stories you cover keep you on your toes and you get to learn about every aspect of the business and its customers.
Being part of an award-winning team with a shared passion for providing creative and meaningful communication has been one of the greatest experiences of my working life.
The talent within the team is first-class and combined with a great team spirit, work ethic and incredible support from the head of comms, it enables the execution of award-winning campaigns and the cultivation of extensive media coverage.
Futures has supported me to learn a variety of new skills, including photography, video production and to study an advanced CIPR diploma in public relations. The last qualification, in particular, has significantly benefitted me in my role and will serve me well for the rest of my career. As will everything I’ve learned at Futures.
I’m now moving into a managerial position but remaining in the housing sector. It will be hard to leave such a brilliant bunch of people but it’s a fantastic opportunity. Just like this role with Futures.
If you’re looking for a comms role that delivers something different every day, job satisfaction, the chance to develop and a fantastic group of people to work with then this is the perfect opportunity for you.
